This is a unusual one, the chain slides through the opening at the end of the chain above the one holding the fob so you can make it longer or shorter at each side. The chain the slide through measures 14 inches long so if you put each end to equal sizes they would hang down 7 inches on each side and if you measure from the T bar to the end of the fob this part measures 3 1/4 inches long. Each link measures 3.6 mm from side to side and 1.5 mm thick so this is a dress chain. Yellow gold filled. the fob is the type they used to make their mark on sealing wax on envelopes before they had glue on envelopes. Very nice one from late 1800's or very early 1900's.

This is a beautiful 14k gold set. Chain is marked and I was told the fob was tested buy it is so nice that even if the fob turns out to be gold filled it is still a good buy. The chain is marked 14k and each link measures 1.5 mm thick and the chain measures 14 1/2 inches long. The fob measures 21.5 mm across not counting the fancy parts near the top. It opens to put in photo's. Overall condition is extra nice and it is hard to find nice old chains like this in rose and white gold.

Here is a nice fancy one in very nice condition one is from the mid 1800's. It pins onto your vest pocket, one end with the chain attaches to your watch and it goes into the vest pocket, the other end hangs out as a decretive piece. The end was used to mark hot wax that was used on letters or packages before there was glue on envelopes the hot wax was used to seal the letter and with your mark, from the end of this piece, it was your mark. This one has former owners initials which is too fancy so it looks like a design. This yellow gold filled this one measures 4.5 inches from top to bottom and is 3/8th of an inch or 9 mm from side to side.

This one is yellow gold filled, measures 14 1/2 inches long with a swivel to lock your watch onto this chain so it will not fall to the ground and will save you costly repairs. The fancy links measure 2.5 mm thick. Very nice one.
